1. Asking for the name of a new friend.

2. Asking for last name.
A: What’s your last name (姓), please?
B: My last name is Li (李).
3. Asking for first name.
A: What's your first name (名), please?
B: My first name is Damin (大文).
4. Introducing one friend to another friend.
A: This is Joe. This is Jack.
Joe: How do you do? (Shake hands with Jack.)
Jack: How do you do? (Shake hands with Joe.)
5. Introducing one friend to another friend (more formal正式).
A: Joe, (I’d like you to) meet Jack. Jack, this is Joe.
Joe: How do you do? (Shake hands with Jack.)
Jack: How do you do? (Shake hands with Joe.)
6. Introducing oneself.
Joe: Joe. (Extends right hand.)
John: John. (Shake hands with Joe.)
7. Introducing oneself (more formal).
Joe: Hello, my name is Joe Chen.
